CBRM, Cape Breton Regional Municipality is a regional municipality in the province of Nova Scotia. In 2001, the population of the city was 105,968 and an area of 2434.39 square kilometers. The climate of the CBRM is cool and wet although it is warmer than most other places in Canada. CBRM has public schools operated by the provincial government's Department of Education. CBRM is the western end of the Marine Atlantic ferry services to Newfoundland. CBRM has been undergoing an economic decline for several decades as the region adjusts from an industrial to a post industrial or service economy.
